I am an Assistant Research Fellow at the School of Astronomy and Space Science, Nanjing University, China. Previously, I held postdoctoral positions at Wuhan University and at Nanjing University. I earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Trieste and B.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and in Physics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. As an undergraduate, I conducted research at Argonne National Laboratory, Lemont, Illinois. My research interests include galactic chemical evolution, the stellar initial mass function, dust modeling, cosmological simulations, the interstellar and intracluster medium, supernova cosmology, and dark energy models. My outreach includes a non-fiction bestseller in Italy.
